California Sequoia
Prized for their durability and ease of craftsmanship, Sequoia trees soar up to 115 meters, embodying the majesty of nature. Their striking red hue and fine, straight grain impart timeless elegance to any creation.
Yet, beyond their practical value, Sequoias convey a message of profound inspiration. These ancient giants have stood tall for millennia, resilient against the trials of time and the elements – a testament to nature’s enduring power.
Mediterranean Olive
The olive tree, a symbol of peace and wisdom, embodies the spirit of the Mediterranean – a region where languages, wines, foods, architecture and music merge gracefully.
Thriving in the region’s rocky, sunlit soils, these trees can grow up to 10 meters tall, with twisted trunks and side branches. Their wood, with its unique wavy grain and rich brown-and-yellow tones, is cherished by artisans for its beauty and character.
Zebrano
Named for its zebra-like stripes, Zebrano wood is native to Central Africa. Its unique appearance, with dark brown to black streaks dancing across a golden background, mirrors the patterns on a zebra’s coat.
Working with Zebrano is not without its challenges. The interlocked and wavy grain of this wood makes it hard to saw and plane, often causing pieces to tear. Its coarse texture and open pores need careful handling, but this hard work always pays off with a beautiful finish.
Yucatan Redheart
Venture into the vibrant tropical forests of Central and South America to find the Redheart tree. Featuring radiant pink and red hues, which deepen with age, Redheart captures the vibrant energy of these lush, wild landscapes.
But Redheart isn’t just visually stunning; it’s such a joy to work with. When handled with care and patience, it takes on a breathtaking finish, revealing the depth of its colors.
